Description

This event focuses on "Migrating from Spring Boot to Jakarta EE / MicroProfile." In recent years, with the increasing discovery of vulnerabilities and the urgent need to address them, momentum is growing to migrate to Jakarta EE and MicroProfile-compliant servers in search of enhanced support and security patches. In this event, we will deliver practical insights, including comparisons between Spring Boot, Jakarta EE servers, and MicroProfile (primarily Quarkus), key considerations during migration, and migration using AI development tools.

Migrating from Spring Boot to Jakarta EE/MicroProfile

Following the announcement of Mythos, more vulnerabilities have been discovered compared to before. Beyond the sheer increase in reported vulnerabilities, there is a need to apply security patches immediately upon discovery. Seeking better support, an increasing number of users are considering migrating from Spring Boot to Jakarta EE and MicroProfile-compliant servers. In this session, we will compare Spring Boot with Jakarta EE and MicroProfile, and explain key points to keep in mind when migrating.

Migrating from Spring Boot to Quarkus: Efficient Modernization to a Jakarta EE Base Using AI Tools

We will explain the value of Quarkus in the container-native era alongside a comparison with Spring Boot, as well as concrete steps based on the official community migration plan. Furthermore, based on evaluation results using the AI development tool "IBM Bob," we will cover efficient migration procedures and common pitfalls to watch out for.
